# Fluid Lite ETH Vault

Amplifying ETH staking through automated leverage.

Fluid Lite generates high yields by using lending protocols to amplify two main sources of returns:

* **ETH Proof of Stake rewards** (stETH Vault)
* **Stablecoins lending rates** (USD Vault)

Fluid Lite intelligently routes positions across multiple lending markets, currently **Compound, Aave V3, Spark, and Morpho,** to achieve the best possible APRs.

### stETH Vault: weETH-ETH Leverage Strategy

This vault takes **ETH or stETH**, then automatically converts deposits into the optimal mix of **wstETH and weETH**.&#x20;

It then:

* Supplies this collateral across multiple lending markets.
* Borrows ETH.
* Swaps borrowed ETH back into wstETH/weETH.
* Loops this process to create a leveraged staking position.

Through this continuous loop the base Ethereum staking yield is amplify.

This vault earns **weekly KING rewards** from weETH collateral. These are converted to ETH and distributed to users weekly.

<figure><img src="/files/510ujFkjoLylyzD0z0F6" alt=""><figcaption><p>A simplified view of Fluid’s leveraged ETH yield strategy.</p></figcaption></figure>

### **Long Term Steady Yields**

Ethereum’s proof of stake rewards will be generated in perpetuity! Unlike other DeFi yields that require emissions of DAO tokens, or secondary incentives, staking rewards are a consistent and reliable source of yield, arguably the best DeFi yield on the market! This makes Fluid Lite ideal for both short and long term holding.

# Fluid Lite USD Vault

Enhancing Stablecoin Lending with Automated Leverage

**Fluid Lite USD is a yield-generating stablecoin vault that grows your balance over time.** Your funds are automatically deployed across optimized strategies so you can earn steady yield without actively managing positions.

No staking. No claiming. No position management.

Yield accrues through a rising exchange rate under the ERC-4626 standard. The vault automatically applies the higher of two rates - a fixed base rate (a guaranteed floor set by the protocol) or a reward-driven rate funded by a rewards pool. When TVL is lower, the reward rate is higher, benefiting early depositors. As more capital enters the vault, the reward rate gradually adjusts and converges toward the fixed base rate.

Deposit once. Earn automatically. Withdraw more.

### **USD Vault: Diversified Leveraged Stablecoin Yields**

The vaults accepts **USDC deposits** and issues **fLiteUSD** in return. These tokens are held in your wallet and increase in value over time as yield is generated.

Deposits are then converted into an optimal mix of **yield bearing stablecoins** such as **sUSDe, syrupUSDC, syrupUSDT, and sUSDai**.

This vault automatically:

1. Deposit a yield-bearing stablecoin as collateral into a lending protocol
2. Borrow a stablecoin against that collateral
3. Swap the borrowed stablecoin back into more yield-bearing collateral
4. Repeat the loop to amplify the overall position

This structured looping increases exposure to lending yields in a capital-efficient way, while the vault automatically manages the process in the background.

<figure><img src="/files/CJTzWfFwv7BNCVrOwyC5" alt=""><figcaption><p>A simplified overview of the Fluid Lite USD yield strategy.</p></figcaption></figure>

### Built on Proven Infrastructure

Fluid Lite USD is built on **Fluid**, a battle-tested DeFi protocol - not from scratch. The vault follows the **ERC-4626 standard**, the most widely adopted tokenized vault standard in DeFi, allowing seamless integration with wallets, dashboards, and other protocols.

The underlying strategies are deployed across **three chains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Plasma)** and leverage **Aave and Fluid** - helping diversify risk while optimizing yield opportunities.

Additionally, a reserve mechanism is in place to help manage short-term fluctuations and maintain a consistent user experience.

### **Exchange Rate Mechanism**

The exchange rate between fLiteUSD and USDC is the core of the system. It determines how much USDC each fLiteUSD token is worth, and it only ever goes up. Here's how:

$$
ExchangeRate = lastCheckpointRate × (1 + max(fixedRate, rewardRate) × timeSinceCheckpoint)
$$

The **fixed rate** is a governance-set annual rate (e.g., 6%) that acts as a floor. The **reward rate** is derived from a reward pool divided by total vault shares.

The exchange rate updates via checkpoints triggered by any vault interaction, whether initiated by a user (deposit or withdraw) or by system-level configuration changes.

#### How Yield Accrues

* Yield in the USD Vault accrues continuously.
* The exchange rate of fLiteUSD updates on every interaction with the vault. Yield accrues continuously in the background, and it is applied to the exchange rate at the time of the next checkpoint (e.g., deposit, withdraw or configuration update).
* Weekly reconciliation does **not** control compounding. It is only used to rebalance strategies and aggregate cross-chain positions.
* Withdrawing mid-week does **not** forfeit earned yield. However, the vault charges a 5 bps (0.05%) withdrawal fee, so very short-term deposits may earn less than the withdrawal fee.

### Weekly Reconciliation

Each week (typically on Sundays), the system performs a reconciliation process. During this time, bridging is temporarily paused while the protocol aggregates net asset values across all chains and lending markets.

This ensures an accurate calculation of total assets, total liabilities, and the current reserve position.

<figure><img src="/files/Ms7hZHLp9RjSBzwekPC6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
During the \~3–4 hour reconciliation window bridging is temporarily paused.
{% endhint %}

### Multi-Chain Architecture

While your USDC deposit happens on **Ethereum Mainnet**, the underlying strategies operate across **three chains**: Ethereum (Mainnet), Arbitrum and Plasma.

<figure><img src="/files/HPGfc2SPZRhCBZ5TJX3X" alt=""><figcaption><p>An overview of the multi-chain architecture behind fLiteUSD</p></figcaption></figure>

Different tokens have native support on different bridges. Cross-chain capital movement uses **CCIP** (Chainlink) and **LayerZero OFT** bridges depending on the token. This is managed automatically - you never need to bridge anything yourself.

This movements are all managed automatically by the **Strategy Handler.**

### The Strategy Handler

The **Strategy Handler** acts as the core coordinator of the USD Vault. It sits between the vault and the per-chain strategy contracts, managing capital allocation and execution logic.

It is built using the **Infinite Proxy pattern**, a modular architecture where functionality is separated into upgradeable modules:

* **Admin Module** — Governance controls such as adding or removing strategies and updating parameters
* **Rebalancer Module** — Executes capital movements, leverage adjustments, and token swaps
* **View Module** — Provides read-only data like net asset values and rate calculations
* **Bridging Module** — Handles cross-chain transfers and synchronization

<figure><img src="/files/BhTYJfN8YCQWPvLqC5l0" alt=""><figcaption><p>Multi-Layer Yield Execution Framework</p></figcaption></figure>

This modular design allows individual components to be upgraded independently while keeping the system flexible and secure.

### **Strategy Contracts & DSAs**

Each supported chain has a **Strategy Contract**, also built on the Infinite Proxy pattern. These contracts own and manage **DSAs.**

Each DSA represents a single position (e.g., "sUSDe/USDC on Fluid"). The strategy contracts can hold multiple DSAs, giving it the ability to run many parallel positions across different collateral/debt pairs and protocols on the same chain.

### Reserve System

The vault maintains reserves that act as a buffer to support a more stable and consistent experience over time.

If strategy returns temporarily fall below the base rate, reserves can help smooth the difference. When performance is stronger, excess yield contributes back to the reserves.

This mechanism is designed to reduce short-term fluctuations and improve overall predictability of returns.

### Putting It All Together :tada:

Here’s how your USDC deposit generates yield within the system:

* You deposit USDC into the **fLiteUSD vault**
* Idle USDC is deployed into Fluid’s USDC vault (**fUSDC**) as the base allocation
* Rebalancers distribute capital across chains using **CCIP and LayerZero bridges**
* On each chain, strategy contracts initiate leverage loops on **Aave** and **Fluid**
* Yield accumulates from the spread between collateral returns and borrowing costs
* Weekly reconciliation tallies everything up and **updates the exchange rate**
* When you withdraw, your **fLiteUSD** redeems for **more USDC** than originally deposited

# Vaults Features

Information on Lite Vaults v2

Fluid Lite utilizes **stETH, wstETH** and **weETH** (tokenized staking deposits on Ethereum that earn daily staking rewards) as well as yield bearing stablecoins such as **sUSDe , syrupUSDC, syrupUSDT and sUSDai,** together with core stablecoins like **USDC**.&#x20;

By using these assets as collateral in lending protocols, the vault borrows (ETH for the stETH vault and stablecoins for USD), swaps back instantly, and redeposits looping continuously to leverage and amplify the base yield.

## Tokenized Vault Deposits

All deposits into Fluid Lite ETH vaults are tokenized as **iETHv2**, while USDC deposits are tokenized as **fLiteUSD**.

These tokens represent your share in the vault and are redeemable for your original deposit plus accrued interest.

#### ERC-4626 Standard

Fluid Lite vaults utilize the ERC-4626 vault standard. Making the Lite vaults even easier to integrate and utilize across DApps. Looking to integrate Lite vaults? Reach out to us on [Discord](https://discord.gg/dV36vkcbGK) or [Twitter](https://x.com/0xfluid).

## Multi-Protocol Strategy

v2 & v3 Vaults can execute leverage strategies across multiple protocols. Lite Vaults deliver the most competitive rates by using multiple protocols.&#x20;

*Vault supported protocols:* Compound, Aave V3, Spark, and Morpho.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can view which protocols are actively in use by the Lite vault in [Vault Analytics - Vault TVL by Protocol](https://dune.com/queries/2352792/3853881)
{% endhint %}

### Smooth Withdrawal Pool

The Lite Vault utilizes a leveraged strategy, which may limit liquidity availability. However, with enhanced withdrawals and multi-protocol support, funds can be efficiently rebalanced between protocols, leading to smoother withdrawals and higher withdrawal ratios.

## Vault Rebalancing

Fluid Lite Vaults will periodically rebalance either automatically or by an assigned role. Rebalancing can move funds to the withdraw pool, rebalance the vault or deleverage under unfavourable market conditions.

**Automatic Rebalancing**

Lite vaults use an automation server which can under certain circumstances rebalance or unwind the vault to prevent liquidations or to make more withdraws available. \
\
**Assigned Rebalancers**

Lite v2 introduces the 'Rebalancer' role, an on-chain account responsible for executing transactions within the vault. The Rebalancer can refinance and transfer funds between protocols, as well as leverage the vault, all within predefined parameters set by Governance. However, it is important to note that the Rebalancer does not have the ability to withdraw funds from the vault.

<figure><img src="/files/q9pSR7tneuYCo4UVbytW" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Rebalancer Class System (Lite v3 – USD Vault)

To protect fLiteUSD deposits and the leveraged strategies that generate yield, Lite v3 introduces a **three-tier permission model**.&#x20;

Each level controls which actions operators can perform on the vault and strategy infrastructure, limiting risk exposure while allowing routine maintenance and rebalancing.

#### Class 1 - Basic Operations

* Deploy idle USDC from the **fLiteUSD vault** into the default vault (**fUSDC**)
* Refinance positions between protocols
* Perform routine, low-risk operations

#### Class 2 - Standard Operations

Includes all **Class 1 permissions**, plus actions required to actively manage fLiteUSD strategies across protocols and chains:

* Withdraw USDC from the default **fUSDC** vault when capital is needed
* Allocate or remove capital from **strategy contracts**
* Bridge assets across supported chains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Plasma)
* Trigger reconciliation to update the system’s total assets

#### Class 3 - Full Operations

Includes **Class 1 and Class 2 permissions**, plus high-privilege actions that directly modify leveraged positions used by fLiteUSD strategies.

* Open new leverage positions
* Close or deleverage existing positions
* Execute swaps required for strategy execution
* Update strategy parameters such as rate thresholds or risk limits

These operations directly impact the **leverage engine that drives fLiteUSD yield**, and therefore require the **strictest security controls and governance oversight**.

#### Security Model

{% hint style="info" %}
Each rebalancer class is assigned to separate authorized addresses (typically multisigs or automated bots). By splitting permissions across tiers, the system minimizes risk exposure - for example, a compromised Class 1 rebalancer cannot open leverage positions or withdraw capital.
{% endhint %}

# Vault Receipt Tokens

ERC-20 Tokens Representing Your Share in the Vault

When you deposit into Fluid Lite ETH vaults, you receive iTokens, which represent your deposited assets plus accrued interest.&#x20;

For USDC deposits, you receive fLiteUSD, the vault’s ERC-4626 receipt token.&#x20;

Both iTokens and fLiteUSD are standard ERC-20 tokens that represent your share in the vault. These tokens are held in your wallet and can interact seamlessly with other DeFi applications that support ERC-20 standards.

![Hold, Redeem, or Send!
Your deposits on Lite are standard ERC-20 tokens ](/files/TUqBtaF8xv7IYfVohvj6)

### Accounting Benefits&#x20;

iTokens (ETH vaults) and fLiteUSD (USD vaults) simplify accounting by minimizing transaction complexity.

* For **fLiteUSD (USD vault)**, your token balance remains constant while the **exchange rate increases over time**, reflecting accrued yield. When redeemed, fLiteUSD returns your original deposit plus interest.
* For **iTokens (ETH vaults)**, the tokens represent your deposit plus accrued yield within the vault structure.

This design reduces on-chain reward transfers and makes yield tracking more streamlined.

# Risks

What are some of the risks?

**Decentralized Finance and products like Fluid Lite are uniquely designed and we recommend users take time to fully understand the mechanisms and unique risk to using DeFi Applications.**

### What are the risks of using Fluid Lite?

Fluid Lite harnesses multiple DeFi protocols and strategies to generate passive yields, but it comes with inherent risks including smart contract bugs, market volatility, and vulnerabilities such as oracle or price manipulations.&#x20;

By utilizing staked assets and leverage, Fluid Lite aims for high yields, but users should be aware of the associated protocol, smart contract, and market risks involved.

### Sustainable Yields

We strive to create a sustainable and long lasting product, as such Fluid Lite is built on long established DeFi protocols and handles highly liquid DeFi strategies. This ensures that under any market conditions vaults can be safely deleveraged or adjusted with minimal to no loss. Under unfavorable deleveraging events the vaults may incur losses.

### Rebalances and Temporary Losses

Vaults can be deleveraged through our automation server. If vault gets risky it can first refinance into another protocol to maintain safety, or it can deleverage by selling their respective collateral and paying back debt. This kind of automation, if required or triggered, may incur losses caused by trading slippage.

### DeFi Legos: Multiple Protocol Usage

\
Fluid Lite utilizes multiple protocols to create one strategy; utilizing more protocols creates more inherent risks by utilizing more code and dependencies. For users to fully understand the risks associated with utilizing a complex Defi Lego they must be able to evaluate the risks associated with their components. Fluid Lite uses leading lending protocols like **Aave, Euler, Compound, Morpho etc.**

At any time the vault may have a part or all of its assets in any particular protocol. If an underlying protocol used by the vault were to incur losses, users would assume losses in proportion to the funds supplied to that protocol by the vault. ***We advise users to learn more about these protocols to fully understand their individual risk profile to better understand their risk when they are utilizing in conjunction and used on Instadapp Lite.***

### Yield Bearing Derivative Tokens&#xD;&#x20;&#xD;

Fluid Lite vaults are built on yield bearing derivative tokens that serve as key assets in our automated strategies.

* **stETH** / **wstETH:** Backed 1:1 by ETH on the Beacon Chain, earning daily Ethereum Proof of Stake rewards.
* **weETH:** Restaked ETH, earning Proof of Stake rewards plus weekly KING rewards.
* **sUSDe:** Synthetic dollar backed by staked assets and delta neutral short perpetuals, earning funding rates and staking yield.
* **syrupUSDC /syrupUSDT:** Yield bearing stablecoins backed by USDC/USDT reserves.
* **sUSDai:** Yield bearing synthetic dollar backed by GPU-collateralized loans financing AI infrastructure.

These derivative, yield bearing tokens are the core building blocks Fluid Lite vaults leverage and amplifies.

### Leverage Strategy

Fluid Lite utilizes a recursive strategy with deposited assets on lending protocols, enabling borrowing against them. Users should be aware of the risks involved in leveraged strategies. Leverage in DeFi can provide increased asset exposure but also requires careful consideration due to the unique nature of code-based governance and on-chain lending markets.&#x20;

### Automation and Autonomous Execution

Lite Vaults have automation functions which automatically rebalance the vault during market changes. Automations are executed on chain and carry their own inherent risks such as price oracles issues, smart contract bugs or other blockchain or other technical errors.

### Governance Changes to Underlying Protocols

Fluid Lite leverages various DeFi protocols, each governed by its own system. The Lite Vaults may need to adjust to unforeseen changes in these underlying protocols, which are beyond calculability. Users of Fluid Lite understand and accept that Governance or the Instadapp team may make necessary changes in response to the independent protocols.

### DAO Governance

The Fluid Lite vaults are managed by **DAO governance**. Governance can set parameters and ranges for leverages within protocols. Governance may approve or remove protocols from the vaults available strategies.&#x20;

Governance can also assign **Rebalancers** a permissioned role which can leverage and refinance the vault within the parameters set by Governance. *Rebalancers do not have the ability to withdraw funds from the vault.*

**Team Multi-Sig** has some limited and emergency management access. The Team Multi-sig does not have access to funds and cannot withdraw or move funds. The team multi-sig can reduce the ratio set for a particular protocol, temporarily pause withdrawals and pause rebalancing; these functions do not change ownership of the assets in the vault.

*Team Multi-Sig:*\
`0xa8c31E39e40E6765BEdBd83D92D6AA0B33f1CCC5`

*By using Fluid Lite you agree to the risks and accept any changes the team may implement to the vaults such as any parameters, settings or changes to code, etc.*

## ETH Vault: Amplifying Interest Rates

Instadapp Lite utilizes the **AAVE** protocol and stETH or **Lido Staked ETH (stETH)**. stETH is a tokenized staking deposit on Ethereum that earns staking rewards daily. stETH can be used as collateral on AAVE and borrowed against ETH recursively to gain increased exposure to staking rewards. By doing this we can increase our exposure to staking rewards by up to 3x

<figure><img src="/files/VyDfNDgpWHlsV3PE1ZFl" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### **Non-ETH Vaults: Exporting Yield to other Assets**

We can execute a similar strategy to the ETH Vault shown above, except in this vault we use the collateral value of the deposited asset to borrow recursively stETH, this allows us to offer a nice stable yield based on POS rewards to other assets!

## Deleverage and Withdraw

At any time users can redeem their entire iToken for their portion of the vault. Normally users withdraw from the withdraw pool however if you wants to withdraw more than whats available you can force a deleverage of the vault to unwind your portion of the vault.&#x20;

### How to run a Force Deleverage and Withdraw?

You can issue a withdraw and deleverage by checking the box in the Withdraw panel.&#x20;

Once the option to F`orce Deleverage and Withdraw` is ticked on you will be able to withdraw your entire balance even it its more than the availably shown withdraw pool.&#x20;

#### What does deleveraging do?&#x20;

When you deleverage the vault, the vault unwinds by selling stETH collateral to repay ETH debt. When issuing a deleverage there will be increased gas costs as the transaction uses a flashloan to unwind the vault and withdraw your deposit.

#### Deleveraging amount too small?

Due to the complexity of the vault and the leveraged state of the vault, positions that are smaller (less than $5000) may not be able to be force deleveraged.&#x20;

### Deleveraging when stETH < 1 ETH

When you force deleverage the vault, the vault sells stETH Collateral to repay the ETH debt in the vault allowing you to withdraw your position. ***The caller of the deleverage will pay for the losses incurred to the vault in the transaction.*** When forcing the vault you must return the vault to the same health it had prior. This means if you force deleverage the vault when stETH is less than ETH price, you pay additional costs to maintain the vault ratio.

### Vault Liquidity&#x20;

Lite Vaults operate as leveraged strategies, maintaining a reserve that can be instantly redeemed. The Availability section in the withdraw panel reflects this reserve. The vaults aim to keep at least 25% of the total value locked (TVL) available for withdrawal, although this percentage may vary depending on market conditions. In most scenarios, up to 50% of the vault's total value can be redeemed.<br>
